How to get your business seen online in 4 steps
Do you have a new business? Or has your business been going for a while with no online presence? Want to increase your brand awareness? You’ve landed on the right page.
Here are a few tips and tricks to get your business seen online, from free business directories, setting up social media accounts, to Facebook and Instagram advertising.
- Free business directories
It’s really easy to set up free business listings, simply search ‘free business listing in x location’ in Google , and you should get an endless list of websites where you can add your business to their directory. Yell is the most popular, so make sure your brand and business is on there, as well as adding your brand or business to local business websites.
As well as adding your business to free directories, set up a free Google My Business account which places your business on google, allows you to add photographs, your website, services, hours and much more.
- Set up social media accounts
Having a social media presence is a no brainer! Set up a business page on Facebook, a company page on LinkedIn, a business or creator Instagram account, a Twitter account if you wish and TikTok if you’re going to create more snappy trending video content.
The power of social media can drive your online presence and can increase brand awareness and customers!

- Facebook/Instagram advertising
If you want to create brand awareness, Facebook/Instagram advertising is the way to go! You can reach thousands of people by advertising on Facebook and Instagram depending on your budget of course. You can also ‘boost’ posts on Facebook to get a particular brand message out there. Top tip: video content or animation is best as it’s more engaging and may stop someone from scrolling to look and click on the post!
- LinkedIn company page
Setting up a Linked In company page is really easy, add your company details, a cover photo, and voila, you’re good to go! Invite your connections to ‘like’ the page and post regularly about all things business. We recommend that your content addresses the needs and issues of your target audience rather than just posting about the services your business provides.
